Channel 4 has released first-look images and announced additional casting for new comedy ‘Break Clause’, the six-part series from writer and creator Jess Bray and director Alice Snedden.
As previously announced, the series stars Samuel Bottomley (How to Have Sex) as Ben and Lara Ricote (Mitchell And Webb Are Not Helping) as Lil.
‘Break Clause’ follows Ben and Lil as they navigate their breakup whilst stuck in the same flat. Their relationship’s over. Their tenancy isn’t. Moving on from your first love is hard enough. Moving out is even harder.
Joining Bottomley and Ricote in the ensemble cast are John Thomson (Cold Feet) as Alan, Lucy Black (Gentleman Jack) as Deb, Catherine Cohen (Sentimental Value) as Jos, Charly Clive (Rooster) as Frances, Hammed Animashaun (Black Ops) as Paul, Michael Workéyè (The Moment) as Kas, Jessica Knappett (Avoidance) as the Vicar, Nathan Foad (Our Flag Means Death) as Owen, Assa Kanouté (Boarders) as Kira, Jack Shep (SNL UK) as Liam, Tamika Bennett as Nic, Jack James Ryan (I Fought the Law) as Jordan and Lucas Jones (Get Millie Black) as Sean.
The series is produced by BBC Studios Comedy and is a co-production with ZDFneo in Germany.
‘Break Clause’ was commissioned for Channel 4 by Charlie Perkins, Head of Comedy, and Laura Riseam, Commissioning Editor. Executive Producers are Jess Bray, Mark Freeland, Molly Seymour and Josh Cole for BBC Studios Comedy, and Laura Mae Harding for ZDFneo. Olly Cambridge serves as Producer.
