‘A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder’ Series 2 Trailer Teases A Dark New Case For Pip This May

by Dave Elliott

The BBC has released the trailer and a new image for A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder, with the second series of the hit YA murder mystery drama arriving on iPlayer this May.

Based on the bestselling novels by Holly Jackson, the drama stars Emma Myers (Wednesday) as Pip Fitz-Amobi, who is trying very hard not to get dragged into another investigation. Unfortunately for Pip, fictional small towns have a terrible habit of refusing to let teenagers enjoy a quiet life, especially once they have proved annoyingly good at solving murders.

The new six-episode run picks up after Pip solved the Andie Bell case, with the fallout still very much hanging over Little Kilton. As Max Hastings’ trial approaches, Pip is determined to fix what she can and stay away from any more amateur detective work. That plan lasts about as long as these plans usually do.

When Connor’s brother Jamie suddenly disappears, Pip finds herself pulled into another race against time. With the clock ticking and the stakes rising, Pip and her friends are thrown into a desperate search to find Jamie before it is too late. The trailer teases a darker, more intense second chapter, as Pip is pushed to her limit and forced to confront whether she can save him in time.

Alongside Emma Myers (Wednesday), the series also stars Henry Ashton (My Lady Jane) as Max Hastings, Jude Morgan-Collie (Here We Go) as Connor, and Eden H Davies as Jamie. The drama is produced by Moonage Pictures, part of ITV Studios, in co-production with Netflix and ZDFneo.

The first series of ‘A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder’ was a major hit for the BBC when it launched in summer 2024, becoming one of BBC iPlayer’s most watched titles with 16 to 24-year-olds, as well as BBC Three’s highest-rating drama since its relaunch. Not too shabby for a show about a school project that spirals into murder, secrets, lies, and the sort of extracurricular activity Ofsted probably frowns upon.

The BBC will premiere the second series exclusively on BBC iPlayer, BBC One and BBC Three in the UK. Outside the UK, Netflix will premiere the series globally, excluding Germany, Austria and Switzerland, where it will be available exclusively on ZDFneo. In Australia, it will stream exclusively on Stan. BBC Studios is handling global sales.

A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder’ Series 2 premieres Wednesday, 27th May 2026 on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
