Call The Midwife: Sisters In Arms UK & US TV Premiere Date

by Dave Elliott

Set in September 1939, ‘Call the Midwife: Sisters in Arms’ follows Sister Monica Joan in her prime, alongside young Sister Julienne and Sister Evangelina, as Nonnatus House remains at the heart of Poplar. Together with Sister Alice, local GP Dr Kit, and three young secular midwives, Sybil, Olive and Marianne, the team dedicate themselves to mothers, babies and the poor as war is declared.

As the blackout and the Blitz take hold, women give birth underground, families are shattered, children run wild, and whole streets are reduced to rubble. But courage, compassion and resilience help the community unite in its efforts to survive.

Jenny Agutter narrates as the older Sister Julienne, with Julie Hesmondhalgh as Sister Alice, Amy Booth-Steel as Sister Evangelina, Helen Schlesinger as Sister Monica Joan, Helena Wilson as Sister Julienne, Bally Gill as Dr Kit Malhotra, Martin McCann as Tommy Moffat, Rachel O’Connell as Mary Moffat, Liv Andrusier as Marianne Siegler, Lizzie Back as Sybil Maxted, Ellie Mckay as Olive Dobbs, Ciaran Bowling as Fred Buckle, Ami Metcalf as Betty Buckle, and Ben Rose as Dr Patrick Turner.
