Nightswimming is a gripping psychological thriller from acclaimed screenwriters Harry and Jack Williams (The Missing, The Tourist, The Assassin), starring Lennie James (Mr Loverman, Save Me, The Walking Dead).
The series follows Matthew, a man convicted of the brutal murder of his wife, Beth, and their two teenage sons, Alex and Simon, at their beachfront home in Portugal. On the night of the killings, Matthew was out swimming in the ocean, following his usual nightly ritual.
A decade later, Matthew returns to Portugal determined to uncover what really happened. Launching his own investigation, he confronts old friends, revisits broken relationships and questions those responsible for putting him behind bars. But as he begins to unravel the events of that devastating night, he discovers that someone much closer to home may have played a part in his conviction.
Moving between past and present, the drama explores family, betrayal, loss and the price of justice, as Matthew fights to prove his innocence in a mystery filled with unexpected twists and morally complicated characters.
