Ahh Legends of Tomorrow… What started off as the also-ran of the DC/CW shows, but has become my favourite of the Arrowverse series… Mainly due to it’s humour, and ability to come up with the most bonkers story-lines. Today at SDCC they not only dropped a new trailer, but also a few hints about what’s to come in Season 3 (Obviously *SPOILERS* incoming!)

Firstly, they announced some casting news. Damien Dahrk will be back in a more permanent capacity, as Neal McDonough is upped from a recurring role to series regular. Also confirmed as returning are Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, and Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold… which is not bad going for a character which was killed off in Season 1!

As we know from the previously released Season 3 synopsis, Rip Hunter is now leading a new Time Bureau, who aren’t overly fond of the Legends haphazard methods… which is fair, considering they did appear to ‘break time’ at the end of last season…

Regarding new characters, we already know we’re getting Tala Ashe as Zari Adrianna Tomaz next season, but it’s also been revealed that Kuasa, a villain from the ‘Vixen’ animated series, will be making her way into live action. On top of that, it seems we could be seeing more of the Palmer family, as Ray’s brother Sydney is set to pop up… played by Brandon Routh… which should make for some entertaining scenes, as Ray has implied the siblings don’t really get along.

Additionally they let slip that there have been in talks with Matt Ryan about reprising his role as ‘Constantine’ for Legends, but he’s currently tied up on other projects. It does mean there is an interest though, so it’s possible we could see Matt back as the scouse sorcerer at some point…

Side note – For those of you that don’t understand the end of the trailer above, go look up who played the captain (as Marty pointed out in the comments – the designer, not the captain…) in James Cameron’s movie ‘Titanic’

Legends of Tomorrow‘ Season 3 will air on Sky 1 in Autumn 2017.
