Netflix Sets May Premiere Date For ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ Season 4
‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt‘ is back for a 4th Season this May Netflix has announced.
Created by ’30 Rock’s’ Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, the series stars Ellie Kemper (‘The LEGO Batman Movie’, ‘The Office’) as Kimmy, a 29-year-old woman who is adjusting to life in New York City after spending 15 years in a doomsday cult. The relentlessly upbeat girl is determined to not become a victim, as she reclaims her life and starts over in the Big Apple.
The show will be split in half this year, with the first 6 episodes arriving on Wednesday, 30th May 2018, and the last 6 coming later in the year.
Whilst we might not know ratings for the series (because… Netflix…), we do know it’s been doing amazingly well at being nominated for awards. So far it has picked up 16 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including 3 nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series, plus various nominations and wins with the Television Critics Association and Writers Guild of America.
Alongside Kemper, the show also stars Tituss Burgess (’30 Rock’) as her best friend and roommate, Titus Andromedon, Jane Krakowski (’30 Rock’) as her former-employer-turned-friend Jacqueline White, and Carol Kane (‘Gotham’) as landlord Lillian Kaushtupper.
