MCM Comic Con: ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ Interviews with Steven Ogg, Ned Luke & Shawn Fonteno

by Dave Elliott

The next interview is a great one for fans of murdering hookers then going for a Burger Shot. Yes, it’s the cast of ‘Grand Theft Auto V’Steven Ogg (Trevor), Ned Luke (Michael) & Shawn Fonteno (Franklin).

Whilst Steven Ogg is well known to gamers as the voice & motion capture artist behind the… shall we say, somewhat “disturbed” character of Trevor Philips in GTAV… He has appeared more recently in a number of high profile roles on TV. He starred as Negan’s right-hand man, Simon, on ‘The Walking Dead’, and popped up as the character of Rebus in ‘Westworld’. He’s also appeared on episodes of ‘Better Call Saul’, ‘Person of Interest’ and ‘Law & Order’.

Ned Luke provided voice acting and motion capture for the world-weary protagonist Michael De Santa in GTAV. His other work includes parts on ‘NYPD Blue’, ‘Law & Order’, ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’, ‘Boardwalk Empire’ and ‘American Gothic’.

Shawn Fonteno provided voice acting and motion capture for the 3rd of the playable protagonists in GTAV, former gang banger Franklin Clinton. Shawn’s other work includes the character of Lee Harvey in the game ‘Watch Dogs‘, and previously provided voices for ‘Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’.

As with the other interviews this weekend, they were split over two days so these are the press panels from Saturday and Sunday. The conversation was, as you might expect with these guys, somewhat sweary in places, so consider this your “Parental Advisory” notice! They talk about the longevity of the game, and bringing the characters of Trevor, Michael and Franklin to life.
