The Greatest Film Casino Scenes in History

Many of us have grown up watching our favourite movie stars act in movies which involve glamourous casino scenes. Such scenes are often accompanied with a palpable sense of tension and drama, with the protagonist often winning in dramatic fashion, using sun play bonus code.  While, as viewers, we have nothing at stake – it’s impossible to stop your heart from beating loudly. Although that is not always the case, as some casino scenes can render you breathless with laughter and slapstick comedy as well! Let’s relive some of the greatest casino scenes in movies released over the past couple of decades:

Casino

Directed by the famous Martin Scorsese, Casino is one of the most iconic movies of the 90s era. The story revolves around two friends who squabble over a large gambling empire. The protagonist is played by Robert De Niro who is charmed by Sharon Stone who plays the role of a prostitute. Based on a real story, this movie is certainly the first movie that comes to mind when one thinks of a casino or gambling! Brimming with suspense and drama, the movie has the most amazing casino scenes as the actors gamble their way through life in a spectacular fashion. It’s a classic movie which you can watch over and over again without being bored.

Casino Royale (2006)

Not all remakes of popular movies are good but Casino Royale is certainly an exception. In many ways, the movie outshines the original 1967 Casino Royale. As the title tells us, this movie also revolves around casinos and gambling. James Bond, the smooth and suave British agent, in a dramatic series of events ends up winning an obscene amount of money. After all, the thrill of gambling is directly correlated to the stakes –the higher the stakes, the more exciting it is to watch (or maybe participate?)! It’s a unique experience witnessing the charming Daniel Craig gamble his way to win (spoiler alert!) a whopping 100 million dollars!

The Hangover

In contrast with the first two movies, this particular movie (which is actually a series of 3 movies now) is quite humorous. Well, to be honest, it’s hilarious. Essentially, it’s a story of four friends who go to Vegas for a bachelor party. In a dramatic turn of events (and a night of partying), the groom disappears. In their confusion, they come across a gangster who demands $80,000 dollars for Doug’s release. The scene that follows is one of the finest yet funniest gambling scenes ever as they use card counting tricks to win more than 80 grand in no time! Due to its outrageous humour and brilliant cinematography of extravagant Caesars Palace, the movie was a hit forcing the producers to follow it up with sequels.

It would be unfair to write about the greatest gambling movies and not mention 21. Based on the true story of the MIT Blackjack Team, it’s a dramatic film which features Kevin Spacey who trains his students at MIT to become card counters. The students use their brilliance to ace their gambling game. Apart from the thrilling and overwhelming casino scenes where the MIT students use their skill to win money, the movie really provides a deeper insight into the gambling industry. It also shows that even if you try to turn gambling into a science, the odds are still an unpredictable as soon enough the casinos uncover their scam. Filled with suspense and thrill, 21 is without a doubt one of the finest movies made on gambling.
