The Arrowverse has added a couple of new people it has been announced today. Anthony Konechny will be joining ‘Supergirl’ in the DEO, and ‘America’s Got Talent’ contortionist Troy James has landed the role of Rag Doll on ‘The Flash’.

Anthony Konechny is set to play Agent Jensen, who joins the DEO after being recruited by Alex (Chyler Leigh), who, if you remember the season finale, is now in charge of things. The part will be a recurring role when his character is introduced in the premiere, as he’s struggling to find his footing in his new job.

Konechny’s previous work includes playing MX-43 ‘1’ in J.J. Abrams short-lived sci-fi drama ‘Almost Human’, and Paul Clayton in ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’. He’s also popped up in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’, ‘Witches of East End’ and ‘When Calls the Heart’.

Over on ‘The Flash’ they are adding in the classic Jay Garrick era comic book villain, Rag Doll. First appearing in 1942, Peter Merkel was a contortionist who turned to crime when the carnival he worked at fell on hard times. After watching toys being loaded into a department store, he hit on the idea of using his contortionist abilities to hide in Rag Doll suit inside the boxes to rob the store when it closed, and so, Rag Doll was born.

In a canny move, presumably, to save money on some CGI work, the Arrowverse bosses hit on the idea of hiring an actual contortionist for the part, which landed Troy James the role. James is actually no stranger to TV work though, having starred in ‘The Strain’‘Shadowhunters’, and ‘Channel Zero’, all in roles which required the use of his talent. He also appeared as himself, showing off his impressive skills, on ‘America’s Got Talent’ earlier this year. The role of Rag Doll is likely to be as a villain of the week guest star, rather than a recurring part.

The Flash‘ & ‘Supergirl‘, along with the other DC shows, will return to Sky One in October 2018.
