ITV Sets January Premieres For ‘Grantchester’ Season 4 & ‘Manhunt’ Starring Martin Clunes

ITV has set January 2019 premiere dates for Grantchester‘ Season 4 and new 3-part Martin Clunes led police drama Manhunt the broadcaster has announced.

The 4th season of ‘Grantchester’ will be the last for James Norton’s jazz-loving clergyman, as he leaves to be replaced by young, new parish priest Will Davenport, played by Tom Brittney (‘The Five’, ‘Outlander’). Robson Green, who plays the other half of the unlikely 1950s crime-fighting duo is sticking around, and will take Will on has his new partner.

Will is described as a man of the people, confident, caring and self-assured. As Grantchester’s young, new parish priest he channels his boundless energy into a quest for social justice. He is a man of God, but with the devil inside of him. As Geordie draws him into righting the wrongs of criminal Cambridge, Will’s own troubled past is unearthed.

Grantchester‘ Season 4 premieres Friday, 11th January 2019 at 9pm on ITV.

‘Manhunt‘ is a 3-part drama written by Ed Whitmore (‘Silent Witness’, ‘Rillington Place’, ‘Strike Back’) and is based on the memoirs of former London Metropolitan police detective DCI Colin Sutton. It follows the real-life story of how the murder of French National, Amelie Delagrange, on Twickenham Green in August 2004 was eventually linked to the murders of Marsha McDonnell in 2003 and the abduction and murder of Milly Dowler as she travelled home from school in 2002.

Martin Clunes takes on the role of DCI Colin Sutton, who was assigned to the case of 22 years old Amelie, who was savagely attacked and struck several times on the back of the head with a hammer. With very little evidence, his painstaking approach and the diligence of his fellow officers gradually led to breakthroughs in the case.

Manhunt‘ episode 1 premieres Sunday, 6th January 2019, with episode 2 airing Monday, 7th January 2019, and episode 3 on Tuesday, 8th January 2019. All episodes air at 9pm on ITV.
