New Trailer Arrives For Matthew Vaughn’s ‘The King’s Man’, Premiering Feb 2020

by Dave Elliott

Twentieth Century Fox has released a new trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming film ‘The King’s Man’, which continues the ‘Kingsman’ franchise by heading back in time.

Based on the Comic Book “The Secret Service” by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons, the story follows a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds as they gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, leaving one man to race against time and stop them. The movie delves into the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency.

Ralph Fiennes (‘Spectre’, ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’) stars as Duke of Oxford, with Harris Dickinson (‘Trust’) as Conrad, Djimon Hounsou (‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘Shazam!’) as Shola, Gemma Arterton (‘St Trinian’s’, ‘Murder Mystery’) as Polly, and Rhys Ifans (‘The Amazing Spider-Man’, ‘Notting Hill’) as Rasputin. Matthew Goode (‘The Crown’), Tom Hollander (‘Baptiste’, ‘The Night Manager’), Daniel Brühl (‘Captain America: Civil War’), and Charles Dance (‘Game Of Thrones’) also star.

The film is directed, co-written, and produced by Matthew Vaughn, and co-written by Karl Gajdusek, based on a story by Vaughn. This will be the third film in the ‘Kingsman’ franchise, but there are already others planned. ‘Kingsman 3’ is currently in development and will serve as the conclusion of the Harry Hart-Eggsy relationship. They are also developing ‘Statesman’, which follows the US secret agent organisation, with Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges and Halle Berry set to star.

‘The King’s Man’ premieres in cinemas everywhere in February 2020.
