Sony Pictures UK has released the first trailer for ‘MORBIUS’ starring Jared Leto, which premieres 31st July 2020 in cinemas around the country.
One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.
The film is directed by Daniel Espinosa, with a screenplay by Matt Sazama & Burk Sharpless and Art Marcum & Matt Holloway. Alongside Leto, the film stars Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson.
Like ‘Venom’, this is one of those movies which is not supposed to be directly connected to the main MCU but is part of the wider Sony Spiderverse. However… the eagle-eyed amongst you may have spotted a certain Michael Keaton, who we presume is reprising his role as Adrian Toomes, aka Vulture from ‘Spiderman Homecoming’. That movie is part of the MCU… So… that confuses things somewhat… Could this be the beginnings of a Sinister Six film? We’ll have to wait and see!
