ITV has set a March UK air date for the much-anticipated series Belgravia, from the award-winning creative team behind ‘Downton Abbey’ and Julian Fellowes.

‘Belgravia’ is a story of secrets and scandals amongst the upper echelons of London society in the 19th Century. When the Trenchards accept an invitation to the now legendary ball hosted by the Duchess of Richmond on the fateful eve of the Battle of Waterloo, it sets in motion a series of events that will have consequences for decades to come as secrets unravel behind the porticoed doors of London’s grandest neighbourhood.

The cast includes Philip Glenister (‘Life On Mars’, Living the Dream’) as social-climbing businessman James Trenchard, with Tamsin Greig (‘Episodes’, ‘Friday Night Dinner’) as his elegant and insightful wife, Anne, and Alice Eve (‘Iron Fist’, ‘Star Trek into Darkness’) portraying their beautiful but extravagant daughter, Susan. Harriet Walter (‘Curfew’, ‘Downton Abbey’) plays the aristocratic Countess of Brockenhurst, with Tom Wilkinson (‘Michael Clayton’, ‘The Full Monty’) as Peregrine, the Earl of Brockenhurst.

The 6-episode limited series reunites the team behind ‘Downton Abbey’ with Julian Fellowes who is adapting his bestselling novel for the screen, with Carnival Films’ Gareth Neame executive producing alongside Nigel Marchant, Liz Trubridge and Fellowes. John Alexander (‘Sense & Sensibility’) will direct with Colin Wratten (‘Killing Eve’) producing.

Belgravia is a Carnival Films co-production with EPIX for ITV and is distributed by NBCUniversal International Distribution. The series has been commissioned for ITV by Head of Drama, Polly Hill. The eponymous novel on which it is based is published by Orion Publishing.

Belgravia‘ premieres Sunday 15th March 2020 at 9pm on ITV in the UK. For our USA-based cousins, the drama comes to EPIX on Sunday, April 12, 2020, at 9pm.
