Sky Atlantic Releases New Trailer for Peele/Abrams Horror Drama ‘Lovecraft Country’, Coming Summer 2020
Sky Atlantic has released a new trailer for ‘Lovecraft Country‘, a new horror-drama created by executive producers Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams.
The one-hour drama series based on the 2016 novel by Matt Ruff, follows Atticus Freeman as he joins his friend Letitia and his Uncle George to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father. What follows is a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from an H.P. Lovecraft paperback.
The series stars Jonathan Majors (‘When We Rise’), Jurnee Smollett-Bell (‘True Blood’, ‘Birds of Prey’), Wunmi Mosaku (‘Luther’, ‘Temple’), Michael Kenneth Williams (‘The Wire’, ‘When They See Us’) and Courtney B. Vance (‘American Crime Story’, ‘Masters of Sex’).
Creators Jordan Peele (‘Get Out’) and J.J. Abrams (‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’) exec produce the drama alongside showrunner Misha Green (‘Underground’), director Daniel Sackheim (‘Game of Thrones’, ‘True Detective’), Ben Stephenson and Bill Carraro. The 10 part series is produced by Bad Robot Productions and Monkeypaw Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
‘Lovecraft Country‘ will premiere “Summer 2020” on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK. HBO will air the drama August 2020 in the USA (so seems likely it will be around the same time in the UK).
