Apple TV+ Orders Psychological Thriller ‘Constellation’ starring Noomi Rapace & Jonathan Banks
Apple TV+ has ordered ‘Constellation‘, a new space-based psychological thriller starring Noomi Rapace and Jonathan Banks from creator Peter Harness.
The space conspiracy-based psychological thriller will star Rapace as “Jo”, a woman who returns to Earth after a disaster in space – only to discover that key pieces of her life seem to be missing. The action-packed space adventure is an exploration of the dark edges of human psychology, one woman’s desperate quest to expose the truth about the hidden history of space travel and for her to recover all that she has lost.
Rapace is probably best known for her portrayal of Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish film adaptations of ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ novels. She also appeared in Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’, Guy Richie’s ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’, and most recently popped up in season two of Prime Video series ‘Jack Ryan’.
Banks is set to play Henry, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist. The answers to his secret discovery are protected by Jo on the ISS… until she returns. Emmy Award-nominee Jonathan Banks is undoubtedly best known for his role as Mike in the incredible ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul’. Over his extensive career, he’s appeared in movies and tv shows such as ‘Airplane!’, ‘Beverly Hills Cop’, ’48 Hrs’, ‘Mudbound’, ‘Community’, ‘Dexter’, and a multitude of other roles.
‘Constellation’ is created and written by Peter Harness whose work includes ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Wallander’, ‘Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell’, and ‘McMafia’. Emmy Award-winner Michelle MacLaren, whose impressive CV includes shows such as ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘The Walking Dead’, ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Westworld’, is set to direct. This marks the third series collaboration for Apple TV+ and MacLaren, who also serves as director and executive producer on upcoming Apple Original series ‘Shining Girls’, as well as Emmy, SAG and Critics Choice Award-winning global hit ‘The Morning Show’.
Co-produced by Turbine Studios and Haut et Court TV, the executive producers are David Tanner (‘Small Axe’), Tracey Scoffield (‘Small Axe’), Caroline Benjo (‘No Man’s Land’), Simon Arnal (‘No Man’s Land’), Carole Scotta (‘No Man’s Land’) and Justin Thomson (‘Liaison’). MacLaren directs the first two episodes and executive produces with Rebecca Hobbs (‘Shining Girls’) and co-executive producer Jahan Lopes for MacLaren Entertainment. Peter Harness executive produces through Haunted Barn Ltd.
