‘That ’90s Show’ Renewed For Season 2 At Netflix

For those of you who have been enjoying That 90s Show on Netflix, there is good news. It has managed to sneak past the mighty cancellation algorithm, and has landed a 2nd Season on the streaming service!

Picking up two decades after ‘That ’70s Show’, it’s 1995 and Leia Forman is desperate for some adventure in her life or at least a best friend who isn’t her dad. When she arrives in Point Place to visit her grandparents, Red and Kitty, Leia finds what she’s looking for right next door when she meets the dynamic and rebellious Gwen. With the help of Gwen’s friends, including her lovable brother Nate, his smart, laser-focused girlfriend Nikki, the sarcastic and insightful Ozzie, and the charming Jay, Leia realizes adventure could happen there just like it did for her parents all those years ago.

Excited to reinvent herself, she convinces her parents to let her stay for the summer. With a basement full of teens again, Kitty is happy the Forman house is now a home for a new generation and Red is, well… Red.

“All of us at That ’90s Show were beyond excited by the warm, enthusiastic response to our first season,” commented series co-creator and showrunner Gregg Mettler. “We can’t wait to return to Point Place for another summer of laughs and surprises. Hello 1996!”

The series stars Kurtwood Smith as Red, Debra Jo Rupp as Kitty, Callie Haverda as Leia Forman, Ashley Aufderheide as Gwen, Maxwell Donovan as Nate, Mace Coronel as Jay, Reyn Doi as Ozzie, Sam Morelos as Nikki and Andrea Anders as Sherri. It also features a number of guest spots from the original ‘That ’70s Show’ cast including Laura Prepon, Wilmer Valderrama, Topher Grace, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher.

“We here in Point Place realize you have many options for entertainment and we’re thrilled you chose us,” add co-creator Bonnie and Terry Turner. “We look forward to entertaining you for years to come. Buh-bye!”

The series comes from ‘That ’70s Show’ co-creators Bonnie and Terry Turner, alongside their daughter Lindsey Turner, and showrunner/executive producer Gregg Mettler. Marcy Carsey, Tom Werner, Jessica Goldstein and Chrissy Pietrosh also executive produce. The series is based on ‘That ’70s Show’ created by Bonnie Turner & Terry Turner & Mark Brazill.

That 90s Show‘ Season 1 can be found on Netflix in the UK and worldwide.
