‘Two Doors Down’ Renewed For Season 7, Moves To BBC One

Two Doors Down has been renewed for a 7th Season, and will have a new home as the BBC announces the multi-award-winning sitcom will move to BBC One.

The comedy follows three sets of neighbours forced to tolerate each other on one street in suburban Glasgow. The ups and downs of the residents of Latimer Crescent are explored in their chaotic, domestic glory, with an array of characters dealing with fish in the fridge, over-exuberant dancing and paternity mysteries. Alex Norton, Jonathan Watson and Arabella Weir star.

“We couldn’t be more proud of the success story that is Two Doors Down,” said Josh Cole, Head of Comedy and Steven Canny, Executive Producer, BBC Studios. “It’s an absolute joy to work on and loved by a large loyal fanbase that have embraced these families and neighbours as though their own over the years! We can’t wait to get going on series seven and look forward to the move to BBC One.”

The much-loved sitcom has steadily built a fanbase that has consistently grown with each series. The most recent Christmas special attracted its highest audience to date, with 2.8 million viewing the special across 30 days on all screens. This marked the show’s highest audience since its launch in 2013.

“Two Doors Down continues on its understated march towards classic BBC sitcom status with the last series pulling in some of its highest viewing figures to date,” adds Jon Petrie, Director of Comedy Commissioning at the BBC. “We’re delighted to be doing more and are excited to see the show move to BBC One for a whole new legion of fans to enjoy.”

Alongside Alex Norton, Jonathan Watson and Arabella Weir, the series stars Elaine C. Smith, Jamie Quinn, Graeme ‘Grado’ Stevely, Joy McAvoy and Siobhan Redmond.

“We’re excited to be spreading our wings and lowering the tone as we introduce BBC One audiences to life in Latimer Crescent,” joked co-creators Gregor Sharp and Simon Carlyle.

‘Two Doors Down’ is a BBC Studios Comedy Production for BBC One, written by Simon Carlyle and Gregor Sharp. It is Executive Produced by Steven Canny and Josh Cole for BBC Studios and Seb Barwell is the Commissioning Editor for the BBC.

Two Doors Down‘ Season 7 does not yet have a premiere date but is expected to land on BBC One later in 2023. All previous seasons can be found on BBC iPlayer.
