by Dave Elliott

Paramount+ has released the trailer for Fatal Attraction, starring Joshua Jackson & Lizzy Caplan, based on the classic 80s movie, which premieres this May on the streaming service.

The all-new series is a deep dive reimagining of the 1980s cultural touchstone through the lens of privilege, personality disorders, family dynamics and murder. In the present day, after serving 15 years in prison for the murder of Alexandra Forrest (Lizzy Caplan), Daniel Gallagher (Joshua Jackson) is paroled with the goals of reconnecting with his family and proving his innocence. In 2008, Dan first meets Alex and his world begins to unravel after their brief affair threatens to destroy the life he’s built with his wife, Beth (Amanda Peet).

The eight-episode series stars Joshua Jackson (‘Little Fires Everywhere’, ‘Fringe’) as Dan Gallagher, Lizzy Caplan (‘Masters of Sex’, ‘Fleishman Is in Trouble’) as Alex Forrest, Amanda Peet (‘Dirty John’, ‘Brockmire’) as Beth Gallagher, Alyssa Jirrels (‘Saved by the Bell’) as Ellen Gallagher, Toby Huss (‘Halt and Catch Fire’, ‘Carnivàle’) as Mike Gerard, Reno Wilson (‘Good Girls’, ‘Mike & Molly’) as Detective Earl Brooker and Brian Goodman (‘Revenge’, ‘Rizzoli & Isles’) as Arthur Tomlinson.

Alexandra Cunningham (‘Dirty John’, ‘Chance’) serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer on the series alongside executive producer Kevin J. Hynes (‘Perry Mason’), with whom Cunningham shares co-story credit, and executive producers Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey for Amblin Television. Silver Tree also serves as executive producer and directed five episodes.

Fatal Attraction‘ premieres Monday, 1st May 2023 on Paramount+ in the UK, Australia, Latin America, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and France. The drama premieres Sunday, April 30, 2023 on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada.
