Paramount+ UK has released a trailer and set a September UK premiere date for ‘The Killing Kind‘, a new thriller, based on the best-selling novel by Jane Casey, starring Emma Appleton (Clique, The Witcher, Everything I Know About Love) and Colin Morgan (Merlin, Mammals, Humans).
The series charts the compelling past and present relationship between high-flying defence barrister, Ingrid Lewis (Appleton), and her client John Webster (Morgan), a successful businessman. Ingrid represented Webster in court when he was accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend and won his case. Things turned personal as Ingrid was drawn to Webster. When she wanted to end the relationship, he couldn’t let her go and consequently, Ingrid’s world imploded.
Just as Ingrid is rebuilding her life, the sudden death of her mentor and friend collides with the unexpected reappearance of Webster with a sensational claim confirming Ingrid’s suspicions that she was the intended target. Fuelled by an obsession to find out the truth and not knowing whom to trust, Ingrid’s world threatens to unravel once more.
‘The Killing Kind’ was written and created for television by Zara Hayes (Poms) and Jonathan A.H Stewart (Devotion) and produced by Eleventh Hour Films. Andy Litvin (‘Roadkill’, ‘Ginger & Rosa’) serves as Producer. Zara Hayes (‘Showtrial’) is also Lead Director, directing episodes 1-3 of the drama. Sony Pictures Television distributes the drama internationally.
