Sky Witness Aquires Max Thieriot’s Hit US Drama ‘Fire Country’ To Premiere In 2024

Sky Witness has picked up the UK broadcast rights to the hit CBS drama Fire Country, starring and executive produced by Seal Team’s Max Thieriot, to premiere in 2024.

‘Fire Country’ tells the story of a young convict, Bode Donovan (Thieriot), who seeks redemption and a shortened prison sentence by joining a prison-release firefighting programme.

Inspired by Thieriot’s personal experiences of growing up in wildfire-prone Northern California, the series sees Bode and other inmates partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish massive, unpredictable wildfires across the region.

The heat is turned up when Bode returns to his rural Californian hometown with the firefighting unit. Bode burned down everything in his life five years ago and left home with a big secret. Now he’s back, with the rap sheet of a criminal and the audacity to believe in a chance for redemption.

The 22 episode first season also stars Billy Burke (Twilight, Zoo, 9-1-1: Lone Star), Kevin Alejandro (Lucifer, Arrow), Diane Farr (Chance, Rescue Me), Stephanie Arcila (Jenni Rivera: Mariposa de Barrio, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels), Jordan Calloway (Riverdale, Black Lightning) and Jules Latimer (Rustin, Guilty Party).

“Fire Country is ablaze with action, drama and stunning visual effects,” said Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content, Sky UK and Ireland. “It’s a series that you’ll just want to keep on bingeing. The show has been a huge hit in the US and I can’t wait to bring it to our audiences in the UK next year.”

‘Fire Country’ is produced by CBS Studios. Executive producers are Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, Tia Napolitano, Max Thieriot, Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed (Lucifer). The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. The drama has been renewed for season two, although obviously, production is currently on hold due to the actor’s strike.

Fire Country‘ does not yet have a premiere date, but will be available to watch on Sky Witness and streaming service NOW in 2024. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, add it via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
