‘Snowpiercer’ 4th & Final Season Looks Set To Pull In To The Station Earlier Than Expected

Although WAY after it was filmed...

It’s been a very bumpy bit of track for the 4th and final season of Snowpiercer‘, but it looks like the drama will finally arrive earlier than previously announced (although, still WAY after it was filmed…)

Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, ‘Snowpiercer’ centres on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a gigantic, perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out.

The 4th Season was originally ordered by US network TNT back in 2021. However, when Warner Bros merged with Discovery in April 2022, all original scripted content development was halted at TNT, so they announced Season 4 would be the last. Then in January 2023 it was announced the (now-completed) season would not air on TNT at all, but would be shopped to other networks. Jump forward to March 2024, and it was announced AMC had picked up Season 4, but wouldn’t be airing it until “Early 2025”, to allow them to air the first three seasons throughout 2024… It seems, AMC has now jumped to a different track, and are set to release throw seasons one and two onto AMC+ on June 1, with season three landing on June 8. That allows them to debut the fourth and final season on July 21, 2024, exclusively on AMC and AMC+ in the USA.

For those of us not in America, (such as here in the UK), the show had been airing on Netflix. However, they were not allowed to air the 4th Season until after it had aired in the US. Whilst Netflix hasn’t actually confirmed a UK premiere date for Season 4 yet, they did previously air it the day after the US release. We’re hopeful (fingers and toes crossed) that this will still be the case, but nothing has yet been confirmed.

The series stars Daveed Diggs, Jennifer Connelly, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Rowan Blanchard and Roberto Urbina. New additions for Season 4 include Clark Gregg (‘Agents Of SHIELD’) and Michael Aronov (‘Billions’, ‘The Blacklist’).

‘Snowpiercer’ Season 4 is executive produced by Paul Zbyszewski, Christoph Schrewe, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Matthew O’Connor, Ben Rosenblatt and Scott Derrickson, and the original film’s producers Oscar winner Bong Joon Ho, Miky Lee, Jinnie Choi, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun and Dooho Choi. The show is produced by Tomorrow Studios, along with CJ Entertainment. ITV Studios handles international distribution.

Snowpiercer‘ Seasons 1 to 3 can be found on Netflix in the UK. Season 4 does not yet have a UK premiere date… but we HOPE it will land in July 2024, after it premieres on AMC/AMC+ on July 21, 2024 in the USA. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
