‘NCIS’ Tony & Ziva Spin-off Will Be Called… ‘NCIS: Tony & Ziva’

Does what it says on the tin

by Dave Elliott

After some speculation about the name of Paramount+’s upcoming ‘NCIS’ spin-off, which sees Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly return to the roles of Ziva David and Tony DiNozzo, the streamer has announced a name… It’ll be called NCIS: Tony & Ziva

The title announcement came in the form of a social media post where de Pablo and Weatherly discussed some of the other proposed titles, such as ‘NCIS: Europe’ and ‘NCIS: Trust No One’. However, they settled on ‘NCIS: Tony & Ziva’, as de Pablo says, “It makes it really easy because the fans will know exactly what the show is. It’s about Tony and Ziva in Europe.”

After Ziva’s supposed death, Tony left the NCIS team to raise their daughter. Years later, Ziva was discovered alive, leading her to complete one final mission with NCIS before she was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris. Since then – and where we find them in the new Paramount+ original series – Tony and Ziva have been raising their daughter, Tali, together. When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, try to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so that they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after.

“I expect intrigue, romance, a background of Europe, impossible situations that will make our life very complicated but somehow a little something about love,” adds de Pablo.

The drama, which is set to shoot this Summer, has a 10-episode order from Paramount+ in the USA. Weatherly and de Pablo serve as executive producers alongside John McNamara (Trumbo, The Magicians), who wrote the premiere episode and will serve as showrunner. Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain and Shelley Meals also executive produce. It is produced by CBS Studios.

Whilst the series is being made for Paramount+ in the USA, it doesn’t always translate that it will air on Paramount+ in the UK as well. The NCIS shows have been rather split up here, with the main NCIS and the now-cancelled ‘NCIS: Hawaii’ airing on Disney+, and NCIS: Sydney on Paramount+. We’ll have to wait and see where this one ends up.

NCIS: Tony & Ziva‘ does not have a premiere date, but is expected to land in 2025 on Paramount+ in the USA. It’s unclear where it will air in the UK at the moment. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
