‘A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder’ Renewed For Season 2 By BBC & Netflix

by Dave Elliott

A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder will be back for more mystery solving as the BBC and Netflix announce the YA thriller has been renewed for Season 2.

Based on Holly Jackson’s bestselling books, the drama sees Emma Myers (Wednesday) return as Pip Fitz-Amobi alongside Zain Iqbal as Ravi Singh, with full casting to be announced in due course. Season one was adapted for the screen by Poppy Cogan, who returns to script dues for season two, but will be joined by the book author, Holly Jackson, to help adapt her own novel.

“I am BEYOND thrilled that we can continue Pip’s story and, this time, I’m writing on the show!” said Jackson. “We owe everything to the dedicated fans, and I can’t wait to reunite with my AGGGTM family!”

After solving the Andie Bell case Pip‘s world has been transformed by her actions, and not always for the better. Pip is determined to fix the fallout – and stay away from any more investigations. But as Max Hastings’ trial approaches, key witness Jamie Reynolds suddenly disappears and Pip finds herself in a race against time to find him. This new mystery will take Pip to unexpected places as she struggles with the idea of justice, straying even further from the ‘good girl’ she once was.

The first season became a huge hit when it premiered in Summer 2024, becoming BBC Three’s highest-rating drama since its relaunch and one of BBC iPlayer’s most-watched titles with 16-24 years old. Netflix carries the drama in the USA and some other territories.

“I’m delighted to be back in Little Kilton with Pip and friends for season two, and to have the opportunity to bring another of Holly’s gripping stories to the screen,” adds season two co-writer, Poppy Cogan.

Moonage Pictures will produce the six-episode second season for BBC iPlayer and BBC Three in co-production with Netflix and ZDFneo. It was commissioned by Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, for the BBC, and will be produced by Sophie Klein. Executive producers are Matthew Read, Simon Crawford Collins and Frith Tiplady for Moonage Pictures; Lucy Richer, Danielle Scott-Haughton and Katherine Bond for the BBC; alongside Holly Jackson and Poppy Cogan. BBC Studios is handling global distribution. Season two has been pre-sold to Stan in Australia.

“We were thrilled to see the incredible response to Season 1 both here in the UK and internationally,” said Moonage Pictures’ Matthew Read. “It is testament to Holly Jackson’s brilliant novels, Poppy Cogan’s screen adaptation and our fantastic cast led by Emma Myers that we are able to bring A Good Girl’s Guide back for a second series for the BBC, Netflix and ZDFneo.”

A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder‘ Season 2 does not have a premiere date but is expected to land on BBC Three & iPlayer in the UK in 2025, on Netflix in the USA, ZDFneo in Germany, and Stan in Australia.
