Everyone’s favourite ‘Game Of Thrones’ actor Peter Dinklage is set to switch dragons for serial killers as he signs on for a series regular role on ‘Dexter: Resurrection‘ opposite Michael C. Hall.
We still don’t have a plot description for ‘Dexter: Resurrection’, but it is a direct follow-on from ‘Dexter: New Blood‘, set in the present day, with Michael C. Hall reprising his role as the title character. If you’re wondering “how?” given the end of ‘New Blood’, you need to watch the opening scene of the prequel spin-off, ‘Dexter: Original Sin‘ for that information…
According to the press release, “Dinklage will play the series regular role of Leon Prater, a billionaire venture capitalist. To the world, Leon is a generous philanthropist, but behind his polished exterior lies dark intrigue… ” Now that, to me, sounds very much like a perfect sort of big-bad target for Dexter’s unique form of “justice”…
Dinklage is an award-winning actor in film, television and theatre who is, of course, best known for his Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning performance as “Tyrion Lannister” in ‘Game Of Thrones’. He’s also starred in films such as ‘X-Men: Days of the Future Past’, ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, ‘My Dinner with Herve’, and ‘Wicked’. His upcoming work includes ‘The Toxic Avenger’, and ‘Lear Rex’ starring Al Pacino, along with appearing on stage in the Public Theater’s production of Twelfth Night starring alongside Lupita Nyong’o, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Sandra Oh.
As previously announced, the new series will also bring back David Zayas, reprising his role from the original series as Angel Batista, now Captain of Homicide of the Miami Metro; James Remar returns as Dex’s father, Harry from the original series; And Jack Alcott returns as Harrison, Dexter’s grown son, who first appeared in ‘Dexter: New Blood’.
‘Dexter: Resurrection’ is executive produced by Emmy nominee Clyde Phillips (Dexter, Dexter: Original Sin, Nurse Jackie), who also returns to serve as showrunner, and produced by SHOWTIME Studios and Counterpart Studios. Michael C. Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under) also serves as executive producer along with Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris) and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll), with Marcos Siega (Dexter: New Blood) serving as producing director. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
‘Dexter: Resurrection‘ started production in January, and is set to launch in the summer of 2025 on Paramount+ UK and Paramount+ with SHOWTIME in the USA. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when they get a UK premiere date.
