Apple TV+ Releases Trailer For Crime Drama ‘Dope Thief’ Starring Brian Tyree Henry, Premiering March

Apple TV+ has released a trailer and announced a March premiere date for Dope Thief, a new crime drama executive produced by Ridley Scott, who also directs the first episode, from Academy Award nominee Peter Craig, starring Academy Award, Emmy Award and Tony Award nominee Brian Tyree Henry.

Based on Dennis Tafoya’s book of the same name, the series follows longtime Philly friends and delinquents who pose as DEA agents to rob an unknown house in the countryside, only to have their small-time grift become a life-and-death enterprise, as they unwittingly reveal and unravel the biggest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern Seaboard.

Brian Tyree Henry (‘Atlanta’, ‘Causeway’) leads the ensemble cast which includes Wagner Moura (‘Narcos’, ‘Elite Squad’), Marin Ireland (‘Sneaky Pete’, ‘The Umbrella Academy’), Kate Mulgrew (‘Star Trek: Voyager’, ‘Orange Is the New Black’), Nesta Cooper (‘Travelers’, ‘See’), Amir Arison (‘The Blacklist’), Dustin Nguyen (‘Warrior’) and Golden Globe Award winner Ving Rhames (‘Pulp Fiction’, ‘Mission: Impossible’ franchise).

Dope Thief’ is created by Peter Craig (‘The Batman’, ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, ‘The Town’) and Ridley Scott directs the opening episode. It comes from Apple Studios and is a Scott Free production. The series is executive produced by Craig alongside Scott, as well as David W. Zucker, Richard Heus, Henry, Jordan Sheehan, Clayton Krueger and Jennifer Wiley-Moxley.

Dope Thief‘ premieres globally on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on Friday, 14th March 2025 followed by new episodes every Friday.
