Marcia Gay Harden Joins Netflix Thriller ‘Trinity’ from Jed Mercurio

by Dave Elliott

Netflix’s upcoming thriller Trinity has added Oscar-winning actress Marcia Gay Harden (So Help Me Todd) to its already star-studded cast. The new eight-episode drama hails from Jed Mercurio, the creator of hit series Bodyguard and Line of Duty.

Harden joins previously announced leads Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Surface, Lift) and Richard Madden (Citadel, Eternals) in the high-stakes political thriller, which follows the story of a principled naval officer drawn into a dangerous conspiracy at the heart of government.

Harden will play Margaret Vandenburg, the powerful CEO and matriarch of the Vandenburg business empire. With her family deeply entrenched in political circles, Margaret’s influence extends far beyond the boardroom, and she’s not afraid to wield it. Her involvement in the unfolding drama adds another layer of intrigue to a story already steeped in secrets and shifting loyalties.

The series centres on Commander Katherine Decker (Mbatha-Raw), second-in-command aboard the USS Kansas, a nuclear submarine regarded as one of the deadliest weapons on Earth. Her life is turned upside down after a seemingly fateful connection with Secretary of Defense Webb Preston (Madden), a tech-savvy and unconventional political figure who may be hiding more than he lets on.

Jed Mercurio serves as showrunner and executive producer, alongside Jimmy Mulville for Hat Trick, Mercurio and Wendy Mericle (Arrow). Michael Cuesta (Homeland, Dexter) is set to direct and executive produce the first two episodes.

Trinity‘ does not yet have a premiere date but will stream exclusively on Netflix worldwide. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
