Disney brought Percy Jackson And The Olympians fans a tidal wave of news at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, unveiling a new teaser trailer, confirming a December premiere for Season 2, and revealing the highly anticipated casting of two major characters for Season 3.

The star-studded Hall H panel featured Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase), Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood), Charlie Bushnell (Luke Castellan), Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse La Rue) and Daniel Diemer (Tyson), alongside executive producers Jonathan E. Steinberg, Dan Shotz and Craig Silverstein. The session was moderated by actor-comedian Timothy Simons, who also stars as Tantalus in Season 2, and included the debut of a brand-new teaser showcasing the first look at fan-favourite cyclops Tyson.

Via a special video message, series creator Rick Riordan revealed that the highly anticipated second season will premiere on Wednesday, 10th December 2025, exclusively on Disney+. Riordan also confirmed that Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie will join the cast for Season 3 as the fan-favourite siblings Nico and Bianca di Angelo, children of Hades. Chrisopulos will appear as a series regular, while Abercrombie will take on a recurring role. Production on Season 3 is set to begin soon.

What to expect from Season 2

Season 2 will adapt The Sea of Monsters, the second book in Riordan’s bestselling series. After Camp Half-Blood’s protective barrier is breached, Percy sets out on an epic quest to retrieve the legendary Golden Fleece to save the camp. With help from Annabeth, Clarisse and his newfound cyclops half-brother Tyson, Percy’s mission becomes crucial in the fight to stop Luke, the Titan Kronos, and their plan to bring down both Camp Half-Blood and Olympus itself.

Executive producer Craig Silverstein described this season as a story about “Percy trying to hold all of his life together as it’s breaking and changing,” with Dan Shotz adding that the scale is “massive,” featuring 175-foot ships, cruise liners, chariot races, and “incredible monsters.” Fans were also treated to a light-hearted tease of Aryan Simhadri’s Grover in a wedding dress, a moment that readers of the books will instantly recognise.

Cast & Crew

Alongside Scobell, Jeffries, Simhadri, Bushnell, Goodjohn and Diemer, the season will also star Tamara Smart as Thalia Grace, Courtney B. Vance as Zeus (replacing the late Lance Reddick), Jason Mantzoukas as Dionysus, Timothy Simons as Tantalus, and Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes. Sandra Bernhard, Kirsten Schaal and Margaret Cho will portray the Gray Sisters.

Season 2 is executive produced by Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Jonathan E. Steinberg, Dan Shotz, Craig Silverstein, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, Jeremy Bell, D.J. Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Albert Kim, Jason Ensler and Sarah Watson.
