U&Dave Announces First Ever Original Drama ‘Hit Point’ From Howard Overman And Urban Myth Films

by Dave Elliott

U&Dave has revealed its first-ever original drama series, Hit Point, a six-part thriller-romance from BAFTA-winner Howard Overman (Misfits, The War of The Worlds) and Urban Myth Films (The Lazarus Project, Paris Has Fallen). The series will stream on U and air on U&Dave in 2026.

Directed by David Caffrey (The Gentlemen, Peaky Blinders), ‘Hit Point’ promises to be a bold mix of crime, romance and high-octane action. The story follows thirtysomething detectives Leo and Bella, whose latest case drags them deep into a dangerous West London underworld. As their investigation twists and turns, the boundaries between their professional duties and personal lives blur, setting up a heady mix of betrayal, loyalty, and simmering will-they-won’t-they tension.

Howard Overman described the project as “a joy to create,” adding:

“We are all excited at Urban Myth Films to be teaming up with UKTV on Hit Point. It’s been a joy to create a show that blends high-octane thrills with heart, humour and a love story at its core. We have a talented crew of industry experts bringing Leo and Bella’s world to life and I can’t wait for audiences to dive into the twists, turns and surprises we have in store.”

Helen Perry, head of drama commissioning for UKTV, called the series “a cop show like no other,” while Emma Tibbetts, director of programming, described it as “sharp, stylish, and full of twists – exactly the kind of gripping, character-led drama we know our viewers love.”

The show is produced by Urban Myth Films, co-financed by CANAL+, with STUDIOCANAL handling worldwide distribution. Executive producers include Johnny Capps, Julian Murphy, and Overman himself. Filming begins next month, with casting news to be revealed later this year.

‘Hit Point’ is the first original drama for U&Dave, but UKTV has been ramping up its scripted output across other channels. This year saw the launch of ‘Bergerac’ on U and U&Drama, which drew an average of 2.4 million viewers and is set to return for a second season. Other recent commissions include ‘The Marlow Murder Club’ (renewed for a third series), ‘Outrageous’, and upcoming projects such as ‘I, Jack Wright’, ‘Bookish’ and ‘Mudtown’.

Hit Point’ does not yet have a premiere date but will air on U and U&Dave in the UK. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
