ITV has released the brand new trailer for ‘Trigger Point‘, the high-tension drama led by Vicky McClure (Line of Duty, This Is England), giving fans their first adrenaline-pumping look at the upcoming third season.
The 60-second teaser wastes no time in setting up the chaos ahead for Lana Washington (McClure) and her fellow bomb disposal officers, known as Expos. The team are once again on the frontline, racing to keep London safe from a fresh wave of explosive threats and a mysterious new enemy bent on revenge.
Season 3 finds the squad pulled into a sinister vendetta after a bomb threat escalates into something much darker. Working alongside the Police Counter Terrorism Unit, the Expos are pushed to their limits as they scramble to identify the bomber before more lives are lost.
Joining McClure are returning cast members Eric Shango (On The Edge), Nabil Elouahabi (Blue Lights, Unforgotten), Natalie Simpson (North Sea Connection) and Maanuv Thiara (DI Ray, Landscapers), along with guest star Jason Flemyng (Gemma Bovery, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels).
Behind the camera, the new season is written by Chris Brandon (Bloodlands), directed by Jamie Donoghue (Doctor Who, A Discovery of Witches) and Audrey Cooke (Trigger Point, DI Ray), with production from HTM Television in association with All3Media International. Executive producers include Jed Mercurio (Line of Duty), Daniel Walker (Boat Story, The Tourist), Jessica Sharkey (Breathtaking, Derry Girls), Brandon and McClure herself.
‘Trigger Point’ has become one of ITV’s biggest recent hits. The last season averaged 8.1 million viewers and racked up 30 million streams on ITVX, ranking as the channel’s second most watched drama of 2024 behind Mr Bates vs The Post Office. Its cultural impact was also marked in March when Her Majesty The Queen visited the set to celebrate ITV’s 70th anniversary.
‘Trigger Point‘ Season 3 will premiere later this year on ITV1 and STV, and stream on ITVX and STV Player. Series 1 and 2 are available to watch now on ITVX. A fourth season has already been commissioned for 2026.
