Ahead of the hotly anticipated return of ‘Bergerac’ to U and U&DRAMA this spring, a first teaser has been released, offering viewers an early glimpse of what lies ahead in the second series of the revived Jersey-set crime drama.
Following the gripping events of the first season, which is available to stream free on U, Jim Bergerac finds himself facing what may be the most challenging case of his career when shocking events unfold at a wedding reception on the island.
Damien Molony (Crashing, Brassic) returns as Jim Bergerac, who is cautiously attempting to move forward with his personal life. Encouraged by his daughter Kim, played by Chloé Sweetlove, Jim has tentatively started dating, though he is still struggling with the loss of his wife. He does not hold out much hope of meeting someone new, viewing it more as something he is doing for Kim than himself. That changes when he meets Nicola, a visitor to Jersey portrayed by Camilla Beeput, and the pair immediately connect. Whether this marks a genuine new beginning for Bergerac remains to be seen.
Romance is also on the cards elsewhere, as Bergerac’s formidable mother-in-law Charlie Hungerford embarks on a new relationship of her own. Zoë Wanamaker (My Family, Doctor Who) plays Charlie, who has found an unexpected spark with the effervescent and charming Nigel, portrayed by Adrian Edmondson (Bottom, Rain Dogs).
However, any sense of calm is short-lived. On the very same night Bergerac meets Nicola, he is drawn into a major new investigation when the groom at a wedding reception is discovered murdered in his hotel room. With cryptic final words potentially holding the key to the killer’s identity, Jersey once again needs its best detective to uncover the truth.
The second series also stars Lesley Sharp, Charles Dale, Turlough Convery, Georgina Rich and Jonathan Aris, alongside a wider ensemble cast.
The teaser is available to watch now, teasing a new run packed with intrigue, danger, and unexpected twists as ‘Bergerac’ returns to the island.
‘Bergerac’ Season 2 will air on U and U&DRAMA in spring 2026. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
