Spider-Noir steps out of the shadows as Prime Video unveils the first-look images for its upcoming live-action Marvel series, giving us our first proper glimpse at Nicolas Cage suited up in his first-ever leading television role.
Based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir, the series is set in a rain-soaked, morally murky 1930s New York and follows Ben Reilly, a down-on-his-luck private investigator with a very unusual past. Once known as the city’s only superhero, “The Spider,” Reilly has long since hung up the mask after a personal tragedy. Unfortunately for him, the past has a habit of coming back, especially when a case is strange enough to demand the return of a vigilante.
Prime Video confirmed the show will arrive in Spring 2026, with an interesting twist for viewers. ‘Spider-Noir’ will be available to stream in two versions: an “Authentic Black & White” presentation designed to lean hard into classic noir aesthetics, and a “True-Hue Full Color” version for those who prefer their shadows a little more colourful.
The newly released images introduce several key characters from Reilly’s world. Alongside Cage, the cast includes Lamorne Morris (Fargo, New Girl) as journalist Robbie Robertson, a determined reporter navigating 1930s New York with both ambition and loyalty to his best friend. Li Jun Li (Babylon, Sinners) plays Cat Hardy, the enigmatic star of a high-profile nightclub, while Karen Rodriguez (Acapulco, The Hunting Wives) appears as Janet, Reilly’s sharp, no-nonsense secretary who keeps his struggling detective agency grounded in reality.
The wider ensemble is packed with familiar faces, including Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire), Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin), Abraham Popoola (Slow Horses), plus guest appearances from Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Michael Kostroff, Amanda Schull and more.
Behind the camera, the pedigree is just as strong. The first two episodes are directed by Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Killing Eve), with Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street) and Steve Lightfoot (Marvel’s The Punisher) serving as co-showrunners. The series was developed with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative force behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, alongside Amy Pascal.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the series will debut first on MGM+ in the US before rolling out globally on Prime Video across more than 240 territories.
