Apple TV has unveiled the first trailer for ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’, a new comedy drama arriving this April that brings together a seriously impressive cast including Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nicole Kidman, Nick Offerman, and Thaddea Graham.
The eight-episode series comes from Big Little Lies and Presumed Innocent creator David E. Kelley and studio A24, and is based on the bestselling novel by Rufi Thorpe. The show follows a young woman navigating adulthood, parenthood, and financial chaos all at once, which makes the title feel less like hyperbole and more like a statement of fact.
In ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’, Elle Fanning plays Margo, a recent college dropout and aspiring writer whose life takes a sharp turn when she finds herself raising a baby while dealing with mounting bills and very few obvious ways to pay them. Her family situation does not exactly simplify matters. Margo is the daughter of an ex-Hooters waitress played by Michelle Pfeiffer, and a former professional wrestler played by Nick Offerman, which creates a delightfully oddball backdrop for a story about survival, ambition and figuring out adulthood the hard way.
Alongside Fanning, Pfeiffer and Offerman, the series also stars Nicole Kidman, Marcia Gay Harden, Greg Kinnear, Michael Angarano, Rico Nasty, and Lindsey Normington, rounding out an ensemble that blends comedy heavyweights with dramatic powerhouses.
Behind the scenes, Kelley serves as showrunner, writer and executive producer. The production team also includes Elle Fanning, Dakota Fanning, Brittany Kahan Ward for Lewellen Pictures, Nicole Kidman and Per Saari for Blossom Films, and Matthew Tinker for David E. Kelley Productions. Michelle Pfeiffer, author Rufi Thorpe, Eva Anderson and Boo Killebrew also executive produce.
The pilot is directed by BAFTA and Emmy Award winner Dearbhla Walsh, who also serves as an executive producer, with additional episodes directed by Kate Herron and Alice Seabright.
The project marks another collaboration between Kelley and Apple TV following the success of ‘Presumed Innocent’, which is currently in production on its second season for the platform.
With a mix of sharp humour, family drama and an unusually colourful set of parental influences, ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ looks set to deliver something a little different when it lands later this spring.
‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ Season 1 premieres Wednesday, 15th April 2026 on Apple TV.
