ITVX has snapped up ‘Fallen‘, the International Emmy-winning fantasy drama based on the bestselling novels by Lauren Kate, with the supernatural romance landing in the UK this May.
Adapted from the hugely successful book series, which has sold more than 11 million copies worldwide, ‘Fallen’ is an 8-part “New Adult” fantasy epic that blends romance, mystery and a rather large celestial war. The series follows Lucinda “Luce” Price, a troubled young woman sent to the forbidding Sword & Cross reform facility, where she becomes drawn to the mysterious Daniel Grigori and starts uncovering secrets tied to her past, her powers, and a love story stretching back across centuries.
The drama stars Jessica Alexander (The Little Mermaid) as Luce, alongside Gijs Blom as Daniel Grigori. The wider cast also includes Sarah Niles (Ted Lasso), Alexander Siddig (Game of Thrones, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), and Timothy Innes (The Last Kingdom).
Behind the camera, the series is directed by Matt Hastings, whose credits include The Handmaid’s Tale and Shadowhunters. It comes from Silver Reel in co-production with Night Train Media, and ITV is clearly hoping it can pull in fantasy fans looking for something with a bit of romance, danger and heavenly chaos thrown in.
Given the enduring popularity of Lauren Kate’s novels, this feels like a smart addition to ITVX’s 2026 line-up, especially as streamers continue to hunt for recognisable fantasy properties with built-in fanbases. For anyone who grew up with the books, or just enjoys their supernatural drama with brooding mystery and cursed love, ‘Fallen’ could be one to watch.
