U has unveiled first-look images for ‘Hit Point’, a new six-part police thriller led by Nick Blood (Day of the Jackal, Agents Of SHEILD) and Saffron Hocking (Top Boy), and it sounds like UKTV is making a serious play with its first original scripted drama for U&Dave.
Written by Howard Overman (Misfits, War of the Worlds, Crazyhead) and directed by David Caffrey, the series follows thirty-something detectives Leo and Bella as a case pulls them into a dangerous West London underworld. As they search for answers, the lines between their personal and professional lives begin to blur, with every twist pushing them deeper into a world of betrayal, secrets and escalating danger.
According to the official synopsis, ‘Hit Point’ blends high-stakes crime thriller tension with romantic drama, sharp humour and plenty of action. That feels like a strong way to launch scripted content on U&Dave, especially with something that sounds built to be fast, stylish and a little chaotic in all the right ways.
Alongside Blood and Hocking, the cast also includes William Abadie (Emily in Paris), Brendan Coyle (Toxic Town), Peter Serafinowicz (The Gentlemen), Nadia Parkes (Kidnapped: The Chloe Ayling Story), Moe Bar-El (Alien: Earth), Ossian Perret (The Last Kingdom) and Joshua Sher (The Undeclared War).
‘Hit Point’ comes from Urban Myth Films, with CANAL+ co-financing and STUDIOCANAL handling worldwide sales and distribution. With that backing, plus Overman behind the script, this does not feel like a tentative first step into scripted drama for the channel. It feels like UKTV wants to arrive with something punchy.
‘Hit Point’ does not yet have a premiere date but will air on U and U&Dave in the UK this summer. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
