Prime Video Adds Six New Series Regulars To ‘We Were Liars’ Season 2

by Dave Elliott

Prime Video has announced six new series regulars for the second season of We Were Liars, the series adaptation of E. Lockhart’s bestselling novel, as the drama heads deeper into the secrets of the Sinclair family.

Joining the cast for Season 2 are Josh Dallas (Manifest, Once Upon a Time) as young Harris, Peyton List (Star Trek: Picard, Gotham) as young Tipper, Costa D’Angelo (Tell Me Lies, Neighbours) as Pfeff, Parker Lapaine (House of the Dragon) as young Carrie, Elysia Roorbach (The Pitt) as young Penny, and Madison Wolfe (The Hunting Wives, Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches) as young Bess.

The second season will see Cadence return to Beechwood in an effort to confront her truth. As she digs deeper into the Sinclair family’s secrets, she uncovers the story of the Sinclair Sisters’ summer of 1999, a summer filled with first love, rivalry, and murder. Through flashbacks, the new season will follow Carrie, Penny and Bess as they navigate their own teenage summer, while also coming to terms with their past in the present day.

Josh Dallas plays young Harris, described as charming, well-heeled, and dedicated to raising his daughters to honour the family name. Harris is a hard worker, a loyal husband, and stoic in the face of crisis, but despite already having command of a media empire, he often finds himself cast in the shadow of his even more charming and far more reckless older brother.

Costa D’Angelo joins as Pfeff, a New England college kid with a mysterious edge. Observant, soulful, and wounded in the most compelling way, Pfeff arrives on Beechwood Island without really intending to upend the Sinclair sisters’ lives, although that soon becomes inevitable.

Parker Lapaine plays young Carrie. In the summer of 1999, Carrie is sensitive, quick-witted, and yearning to be loved. On the surface, she is the Harvard-bound, obedient eldest daughter, until an intriguing new boy arrives on the island and tempts her with a very different kind of future.

Peyton List takes on the role of young Tipper, the young matriarch of a Kennedy-esque dynasty. She can bake a perfect pie, host the hell out of a dinner party, and deftly pull the strings in her husband’s quest for wealth and power. But a family crisis exposes her sharp edges, icy temper, and secrets.

Elysia Roorbach plays young Penny, who has a competitive streak a mile wide. Charming, popular, and a hopeless romantic, Penny hides her struggles with body image and a burgeoning panic disorder from everyone, until someone unexpected sees beyond her “Perfect Penny” mask.

Madison Wolfe rounds out the new regulars as young Bess. In the summer she turns 16, Bess dreams of being a songwriter, an adventurer, and, most importantly, nothing like her mother. Desperate to fit in with the older kids, especially the three college-age boys who have moved into the guest house, Bess will do anything to impress them, including some things she’ll live to regret.

‘We Were Liars’ Season 2 is written and executive produced by co-showrunners Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries, Legacies) and Carina Adly MacKenzie (Roswell, New Mexico, The Originals). Also executive producing are Emily Cummins (The Endgame, Vampire Academy) for My So-Called Company, Brett Matthews (Legacies), Marguerite MacIntyre (Vampire Academy) and the novel’s author, E. Lockhart. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, and Amazon MGM Studios are behind the project.

We Were Liars’ Season 2 does not yet have a premiere date but will air on Prime Video in the UK. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
