Bergerac Series 3 Begins Filming As Jason Flemyng, Georgia Tennant & More Join Cast

by Dave Elliott

Bergerac is heading back to Jersey for a third series, with filming now underway and Damien Molony (The Split, Brassic) returning as the island’s troubled detective, Jim Bergerac.

The six-part U&Original drama will return with a brand-new case, alongside a sizeable collection of new cast members. Jason Flemyng (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Black Mirror), Tessa Peake-Jones (Grantchester, Only Fools and Horses), Lee Ingleby (The Serpent Queen, The Long Shadow) and Georgia Tennant (Staged, The Horne Section TV Show) have all joined Series 3.

Flemyng will play Alistair, Peake-Jones takes the role of Carol, Ingleby appears as Dominic, while Tennant plays Laura, a down-to-earth physiotherapist who might finally prove to be Jim’s perfect match.

Series 3 sees Bergerac investigate a suspicious death after his only significant lead produces a DNA match to Jersey’s most notorious unsolved case, the Devil’s Hole murder. Solving the present-day crime will force him to dig into the island’s past, uncovering evidence of a satanic cabal stretching into the heart of Jersey society.

Away from the investigation, Jim’s daughter Kim is now at college, leaving him to consider whether there might be room for a new relationship in his life. Meanwhile, Charlie Hungerford faces her own crisis after confronting a home intruder, with devastating consequences.

Zoë Wanamaker (My Family, Shadow and Bone) returns as Charlie Hungerford, alongside Robert Gilbert (Killing Eve, Big Boys) as Barney Crozier, Sasha Behar (Foundation, Strike Back) as Uma Dalal, Celine Arden (The Bay, The Diplomat) as Kara Molloy and Luke Nunn as Simon Calvert.

The guest cast also includes Sean Gilder (Slow Horses, Sherwood) as Les, Alexander Cobb (Grace, Towards Zero) as Jake, Sule Rimi (The Day of the Jackal, Andor) as Jonathan, Matti Houghton (Believe Me, Grace) as Catherine, Liam Garrigan (Transformers: The Last Knight, Belgravia) as Patrick, Elen Rhys (The One That Got Away, The Mallorca Files) as Esme, and Sebastian Armesto (Gangs of London, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as Edward.

“Bergerac has become a firm favourite with our audiences, so we’re thrilled to recommission it for a third series. The next chapter raises the stakes even further, with a gripping mystery that will keep audiences guessing until the very end,” said Helen Perry, head of drama commissioning at UKTV.

The reimagined detective drama first arrived in 2025, reviving the classic Jersey-set series for a new generation. Series 2 launched on U and U&DRAMA in April 2026, attracting an average audience of 1.3 million viewers across its six episodes. That made it the second highest-rated series across U&DRAMA and the wider UKTV network during 2026 so far, behind only Series 3 of ‘The Marlow Murder Club’.

‘Bergerac’ was created by Toby Whithouse (Being Human, The Game) and is produced by BlackLight TV, part of Banijay UK, in collaboration with Jersey-based Westward Studios and with support from Visit Jersey.

Series regular Brian Fillis (Trust, The Curse of Steptoe) returns to write the new episodes alongside Catherine Tregenna (Doctor Who, The One That Got Away) and Ashley Sanders. Paul Wilmshurst (The Day of the Jackal, Strike Back) and Tracey Larcombe (The Hairdresser Mysteries, Catch Me a Killer) will direct, with Mike O’Regan producing.

The first two series are available to stream free on U, with episodes also airing on the free-to-air channel U&DRAMA.

Bergerac Series 3 premieres in 2027 on U and U&DRAMA. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
