Paramount+ has set a November return for ‘Yellowjackets’, with the Emmy-nominated survival thriller heading back for its fourth and final season. The streamer has also released a new teaser under the suitably ominous banner, “The final reckoning begins.”
The final run of ‘Yellowjackets’ sees the survivors racing to bury their sins as rescue draws closer, while an old flame roars back into town with plans of her own. As Paramount+ rather ominously puts it, “Turns out not every homecoming is a joyous one, and this one’s going to sting.”
For anyone who somehow missed the increasingly twisted story so far, ‘Yellowjackets’ follows a team of talented high school girls soccer players who survive a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series jumps between their desperate fight for survival, and the lives they have attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, as it becomes increasingly clear that what happened in the wilderness never really stayed there.
The fourth season brings back Melanie Lynskey (Castle Rock), Christina Ricci (Z: The Beginning of Everything), Tawny Cypress (Unforgettable), Sophie Nélisse (The Book Thief), Jasmin Savoy Brown (The Leftovers), Sophie Thatcher (Heretic), Samantha Hanratty (Shameless), Courtney Eaton (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Liv Hewson (Santa Clarita Diet).
They are joined by Warren Kole (Shades of Blue), Kevin Alves (Locke & Key), Sarah Desjardins (The Night Agent), Nia Sondaya (Heart Shot), Jenna Burgess (Lies Between Friends) and two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby).
Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson created the series and return as showrunners and executive producers. Drew Comins of Creative Engine also executive produces alongside Jonathan Lisco, Jeff W. Byrd, Sarah L. Thompson, Ameni Rozsa and Julia Bicknell. The series is produced for SHOWTIME by Lionsgate Television.
All three previous seasons of ‘Yellowjackets’ are available to stream now on Paramount+, giving you a few months to revisit exactly how badly things have gone wrong before the survivors face their final reckoning.
