If you were wondering when ‘YAGA‘ would bring its coastal mystery, missing heir and ancient magic to UK screens, Sky has picked a fitting night: Halloween. The broadcaster has released a new trailer and confirmed that the eight-part thriller arrives on Sky and NOW in October.
Noah Reid (‘Schitt’s Creek’) plays Rapp, a private investigator called to a small coastal town after Henry Park disappears. Henry, played by Hudson Williams (‘Heated Rivalry’), is the young heir to a powerful fishery, so his disappearance comes with plenty of people, money and secrets for Rapp to untangle.
The locals are hardly lining up to make his job easier. There’s Carson, an apprehensive detective played by Clark Backo (‘The Changeling’), and Katherine, a charismatic university professor played by Carrie-Anne Moss (‘The Matrix’). Katherine has a taste for younger men, while the investigation has a taste for sending Rapp down increasingly strange paths. Somewhere among the suspects and their hidden lives, ancient magic enters the picture too. That’s probably outside the usual private investigator’s fee.
The supporting cast includes Sheila McCarthy, Megan Follows, Ezra Franky, Patrick Gilmore, Katharine Isabelle, Hiro Kanagawa, Emilija Baranac, Georgia Acken, Anisa Harris and Sam Krochmal.
Created and written by Kat Sandler, ‘YAGA’ is a Crave Original produced by Blink49 Studios and Front Street Pictures in association with Bell Media. David Frazee and Rachel Talalay co-direct, while Mackenzie Donaldson, Andrew Miller and Carrie-Anne Moss serve as executive producers.
