Apple TV has released the trailer for ‘Nocturne‘, its new crime thriller starring Liev Schreiber (‘Ray Donovan’, ‘The Perfect Couple’), Zazie Beetz (‘Atlanta’, Deadpool 2) and Stephen Graham (‘Adolescence’, ‘This Is England’). The 10-episode drama arrives this October, just in time for anyone who finds a cunning serial killer scarier than the usual Halloween fare.
Schreiber plays Jonah Lynn, a former soldier and homicide detective who leaves Philadelphia for a quieter life in a small western Pennsylvania town. As crime drama relocations go, it does not work out particularly well. The town and Jonah’s family soon become targets of Jurek Walter, a serial killer played by Graham.
The search for Jurek’s last missing victim brings Jonah’s surrogate daughter, FBI Agent Saga Bauer (Beetz), into the investigation. She has to get close to the killer for answers, leaving Jonah to decide how far he is willing to go to protect her and everyone else he loves.
The series is based on The Sandman by Lars Kepler, the pen name of writing duo Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril. Bill Camp (‘The Night Of’), Rory Culkin (‘Under the Banner of Heaven’), Chrissy Metz (‘This Is Us’), Poorna Jagannathan (‘Never Have I Ever’) and Gary Carr (‘The Deuce’) round out the cast.
Rowan Joffé (‘Tin Star’) created ‘Nocturne’ for television, while John Hlavin (‘Shooter’) developed the adaptation and serves as showrunner. Both write and executive produce. Tim Van Patten (‘Masters of the Air’) directs the first two episodes.
‘Nocturne‘ premieres Friday, 30th October 2026 on Apple TV with two episodes, followed by new episodes every Friday.
