Become one with The Force (or just look at all the amazing props) at the Star Wars Identities Exhibition!

The force is indeed strong with the O2 in London this year as there are over 200 props, costumes, models and concept art pieces from the Star Wars Saga on show, some which have never been displayed before!

Nothing compares to seeing these incredible items up close in person. Having seen many photos of the millennium falcon models and Ralph McQuarrie’s incredible concept art paintings I was still awe struck looking at them in real life. Seeing so many behind the scenes sketches and pre-production concept pieces as well as a life size Landspeeder and all your favourite droids & characters is an opportunity not to be missed!

The pieces on display are taken from a whole range of Star Wars movies, so expect to see a plethora of Stormtroopers, R2D2, BB8, Darth Vader, Yoda, pod racers and more. For me seeing the ship models was a real highlight – the main model display was large and wonderfully laid out, you could also walk all around it to see the ships from all angles. The level of detail put into each one, from tiny characters in the cockpits, to insignia and markings even down to battle damage and scuffs to make them look like real spaceships is astounding.

Star Wars Identities also has optional mini quizzes throughout where you can choose your path and create your own Star Wars alter ego – which you can then see lifesize on an interactive wall with your friends at the end of the exhibit and have emailed to you to keep. My Star Wars Identity is Trista, a hedonistic and headstrong Togruta bounty hunter raised on the lava planet Mustafar with strong force abilities who has joined the Dark Side… basically everything I’m not. Little ones may need help with some of the quizzes requiring multiple choice answers but the main character traits are selected by choosing options on large wall displays using a special interactive bracelet.

Photos are welcome at the exhibition but they have alarms to detect the use of flash so make sure to set your phone or camera correctly before going in to avoid high tech embarrassment!

I took some footage of the exhibition, from queues to walking around inside, if you want a sneak peek!

The Star Wars Identities exhibition is travelling Europe and is here in the UK at the O2 until September 3rd 2017. Tickets are on timed entry to avoid rushes, so if you need a particular date and time do book ahead.
