The CW has put into development ‘Dead Inside’, a new cop drama with an interesting supernatural twist.

‘Dead Inside’ follows the story of a female underachieving beat cop who gets caught in an explosion that kills her hotshot detective big brother. Surviving the blast, she starts to see his ghost, flipping their sibling dynamic on its head and allowing her to truly live her life for the first time. The duo work together to help crime victims, both living and dead, whilst they figure out the unfinished business keeping big brothers spirit trapped on the earthly plain.

The hour-long drama is being written by Katie Lovejoy, whose previous credits include the Jonathan Rhys Meyers ‘Dracula’ series, and NBC pilot ‘Miranda’s Rights’. The show will be produced by Bill Lawrence’s Doozer Productions, who are the people behind shows such as ‘Cougar Town’, ‘Scrubs’ and ‘Spin City’.

This does sound somewhat like a modern version of classic British series ‘Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)’, although you can bet the cast will be younger and more attractive, given that it’s a CW show! This is the second announcement we’ve had from the US network about shows in development recently, who also revealed they were working on a reboot to the late 90’s series ‘Roswell’.

‘Dead Inside’ is still in early development, but we’ll let you know more as we get it.
