Sky Living has picked up the ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ spin-off ‘Station 19‘ they have announced, and it will be arriving in April!
Set in Seattle, where all firefighters are also trained EMTs, the show follows heroic firefighters at Fire Station 19. Working in 24-hour shifts, these professionals spend so much time together that they build relationships unlike any others. The show stars Jaina Lee Ortiz (‘Shooter’, ‘Rosewood’) as Andy Herrera, head of the firehouse. She’s badass, confident and daughter of Captain Pruitt (Miguel Sandoval – ‘Dirk Gently’, ‘Medium’), her primary inspiration to become a firefighter.
Andy is joined by best friend and fellow firefighter Maya Bishop (Danielle Savre – ‘T@gged’, ‘Heroes’), the charming Dean Miller (Okieriete Onaodowan – ‘The Get Down’), youngest member Victoria “Vic” Hughes (Barrett Doss – ‘Iron Fist’), and rookie Ben Warren (Jason George), who moves over from ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. Rounding out the team is Travis Montgomery (Jay Hayden – ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’) who is the heart of the station, keeping everyone on track and helping his fellow team members grow. After a traumatic event, he is also a stickler for following the rules and making sure the newbies stay in line.
The team also work closely with Seattle PD which often means dealing with one of Andy’s oldest friends (and former high school flame), Ryan Tanner (Alberto Frezza – ‘Dead of Summer’).
You won’t have to wait long to meet the firefighter of ‘Station 19‘ either, as Sky Living is premiering the show on Wednesday, 18th April at 10pm, right after ‘Grey’s Anatomy’.
