‘Timeless’ Star Abigail Spencer To Lead Hulu Revenge Pilot ‘Reprisal’
‘Timeless’ star Abigail Spencer is switching time travel for a femme fatale character as she lands the lead role in Hulu’s upcoming pilot ‘Reprisal’.
Long after being left for dead by her brother and his gang, Katherine Harlow has reemerged far from their world as the charming Doris Dearie (Spencer). Having enjoyed some years of peace, she now finds her quaint lifestyle on the brink of unravelling. Prompted to embark on a mission to rescue her long-lost niece from the very gang that tried to kill her, she aims to exact her revenge every step of the way.
Abigail Spencer has just completed 2 seasons as the time-travelling historian Lucy Preston on ‘Timeless’, which is due to return for a final 2-hour finale to round off the cancelled series. She previously starred as Dana Scott in ‘Suits’, and has also had roles on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘Rectify’, ‘True Detective’, and ‘Mad Men’.
The pilot for ‘Reprisal’ is being written by Josh Corbin (‘StartUp’, ‘Quantum Break’), and directed by Jonathan Van Tulleken (‘Top Boy’, ‘Misfits’). It will be produced by A+E Studios and The Littlefield Company. Corbin will exec produce alongside Barry Jossen, Ann Johnson and Graham Littlefield.
‘Reprisal’ is currently only a pilot for Hulu, but we’ll let you know if the streaming service picks it up to series.
