David Schwimmer Joins ‘Will & Grace’ In Recurring Role Next Season

‘Friends’ star David Schwimmer is heading back to primetime comedy as he joins Will & Grace as a recurring character in the upcoming season of the sitcom.

Just over a decade after their unforgettable eight-season run, ‘Will & Grace’ made a triumphant return to UK screens earlier this year. Debra Messing & Eric McCormack slipped easily back into the roles of gay lawyer Will Truman & straight interior designer Grace Adler, the two best friends who live (and now work) together. They are, of course, joined by the irrepressible duo of Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes as Jack McFarland and Karen Walker.

Schwimmer is set to join the show as a new love interest for Grace in what is thought to currently be a five-episode arc. A number of other guest stars have also been announced for Season 10 (or Season 2 of the revival, depending on how you’re counting!) They include comedian Chelsea Handler, who will play a high-powered lesbian client of Grace’s who also happens to be dating Janet, Grace’s sister, played by Mary McCormack. Alec Baldwin is also set to return as Karen’s love interest, Malcolm Widmark.

‘Will & Grace’ picked up a staggering 16 Emmys over its initial run, and is currently hoping to add to that with 5 Emmy nominations pending for this year’s awards. It is also up for 2 Golden Globes this year, including ‘Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy’ and ‘Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy’ for Eric McCormack.

Will & Grace Season 9 aired on Channel 5 in January 2018. Hopefully, Season 10 will land around the same time in 2019 (if not earlier), but we’ll let you know when we have more information.
