‘Stan Against Evil’ Cancelled After 3 Seasons

Stan Against Evil might be handy in a fight with demons, but the show has lost its battle with the network as US broadcaster IFC cancels the horror-comedy after 3 Seasons.

‘Stan Against Evil’ follows Stan Miller (John C. McGinley), a perpetually disgruntled former sheriff of a small New England town who was forced into retirement. Stan has trouble relinquishing his authority to Evie Barret (Janet Varney), the tough and beautiful new sheriff in town, but they form an unlikely alliance when both begin to realise things are not quite right in their quaint New England town. Together, they valiantly fight a plague of unleashed demons that have been haunting the town, which just happens to be built on the site of a massive 17th-century witch burning.

Dana Gould, creator of the series, made the announcement on his podcast this week, commenting “It had a great run of 3 seasons. It’s not coming back. Will it show up in some other form on some other network someday? Maybe. But right now, as we like to say, it’s dead as Kelsey’s nuts.”

Following the cancellation announcement, IFC released a statement saying “We are grateful to Dana Gould and our partners at Radical Media, as well as the stellar cast of Stan Against Evil including John C. McGinley and Janet Varney for three unforgettable seasons battling the forces of evil and the most original one-liners anywhere.” Not grateful enough to keep the series on air though…

Stan Against Evil ran for 3 seasons on Fox in the UK.
