‘Titans’ Casts ‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Iain Glen As Bruce Wayne

I’m brooding Khaleesi… It seems Bruce Wayne will be showing up in Titans next season, and he will be sporting the face of Ser Jorah Mormont, aka actor Iain Glen.

‘Titans’ is a live-action drama which follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe by Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites), who is trying to emerge from the shadow of Batman.

After decades of fighting crime as Batman, billionaire Bruce Wayne (Glen) is just as driven to protect Gotham from evil as he was in his prime. Needing to reconcile his relationship with Dick Grayson, the duo hope to forge a new dynamic as Bruce tries to help his former sidekick and the Titans achieve success.

It’s interesting to note that the casting appears to be for Bruce Wayne, not Batman. Whilst those are technically the same thing, it seems likely we may just be seeing the business-suited Bruce rather than a cowled Batman on screen. We did get a glimpse of Batman at the end of ‘Titans’ Season 1, but Dick appeared to imply Bats had gone off the deep end. Could it be that Bruce has come to his senses and has stepped away from the cowl (for the moment anyway)? Could it be Bruce asks Dick to take over the cowl, but he refuses and becomes Nightwing instead? We’ll have to wait and see?

Whilst Scottish actor Iain Glen is a well-known face to ‘Game Of Thrones’ fans, you may also know him from ‘Downton Abbey’ as Sir Richard Carlisle or his role as Dr. Alexander Isaacs/Tyrant in the ‘Resident Evil’ franchise. He’s also popped up in a multitude of dramas such as ‘Spooks’, ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Cleverman’ and played ‘Jack Taylor’ in the tv movie adaptations.

Glen joins a host of new characters in ‘Titans’ Season 2 which include Esai Morales as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke, alongside his children Joseph and Rose, otherwise known as Jericho, played by Chella Man, and Ravager, played by Chelsea Zhang. Joshua Orpin also joins the series as Superboy, aka Connor Kent. Returning cast includes Brenton Thwaites (Dick Grayson), Teagan Croft (Raven), Anna Diop (Starfire), Ryan Potter (Beast Boy), Alan Ritchson (Hawk) and Minka Kelly (Dove). Curran Walters, who also appeared in Season 1 as Jason Todd/Robin (the new one) has been upped to series regular for Season 2.

Titans‘ Season 1 can be streamed right now on Netflix UK.
