Amazon Cancels ‘Sneaky Pete’ After 3 Seasons

The next cancellation comes from Amazon and sees conman drama Sneaky Pete cancelled after 3 Seasons.

The critically acclaimed drama starred Giovanni Ribisi (‘Avatar’) as a con man Marius, who left prison only to find himself hunted by the vicious gangster he once robbed. With nowhere else to turn, he took cover from his past by assuming the identity of his cellmate Pete, “reuniting” with Pete’s estranged family.

The series also starred Marin Ireland (‘Side Effects’), three-time Emmy winner Margo Martindale (‘The Americans’), Peter Gerety (‘Prime Suspect’), Libe Barer (‘Parenthood’), Shane McRae (‘Still Alice’) and Michael Drayer (‘Mr. Robot’).

‘Sneaky Pete’ had an interesting history, having started out as a pilot for CBS, which wasn’t picked up. It was then taken by Amazon and retooled from a procedural (because… CBS…) and transform into a serialised drama for the streaming service. The series, a co-production with Sony Pictures Television, comes from Executive Producers Graham Yost (‘The Americans’), Bryan Cranston (‘Breaking Bad’), Michael Dinner (‘Electric Dreams’) and Fred Golan (‘Justified’), James Degus (‘All The Way’) and Seth Gordon (‘Horrible Bosses’).

Season 3, which premiered last month on Amazon, asked the question “Who is Marius Josipovic?”… Marius himself would like to know. He’s feeling a pull toward the Bernhardt family. But he’s not part of the family. He’s a con-man. The chance to become more like a normal human being is enticing. It also scares him to death. This season all the members of the Sneaky Pete family explore their identity. It’s a dangerous journey. They could lose themselves or their lives.

All 3 Seasons of ‘Sneaky Pete‘ can be found on Amazon Prime in the UK and around the world.
