HBO has released a new trailer for ‘Watchmen‘, which premieres Monday, 21st October on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV, and Sunday, October 20th at 9pm on HBO in the US.
Set in an alternate history where masked vigilantes are treated as outlaws, the ‘Watchmen’ series embraces the nostalgia of the original Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ groundbreaking and seminal graphic novel, while attempting to break new ground of its own.
This latest trailer focuses on Regina King’s (‘The Leftovers’) masked Police Detective Angela Abar, who is working alongside Jean Smart’s (‘Legion’) FBI Agent Laurie Blake, and under Don Johnson’s (‘Miami Vice’) Police Chief Judd Crawford. The main threat seems to be coming from the Seventh Cavalry, a domestic terrorist group who we’ve also seen in the previous trailers wearing those Rorschach-type masks. We are also given another shot of Nite Owl’s Owlship, although this time crashing into the ground…
The cast also includes Tom Mison (‘Sleepy Hollow’) as Marcos Maez aka Mime, Tim Blake Nelson (‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’) as Looking Glass, Louis Gossett Jr. (‘Hap and Leonard’, ‘An Officer and a Gentleman’) as Old Man, Adelaide Clemens (‘Rectify’) as Pirate Jenny, Frances Fisher (‘Masters of Sex’) as Jane Crawford, Jacob Ming-Trent (‘SuperFly’) as Panda, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (‘Aquaman’) as Cal Abar, Sara Vickers (‘Endeavour’) as Erika Manson aka Marionette, and Andrew Howard (‘Hell on Wheels’) as Red Scare.
We will find out more when ‘Watchmen‘ premieres Monday, 21st October 2019 on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV, and Sunday, October 20th 2019 at 9pm on HBO in the US.
