BBC Two Sets January UK Premiere Date For ‘Good Omens’

For those of you without Amazon Prime, BBC Two has announced the linear broadcast of Good Omens, the wonderful adaptation of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s beloved book, will premiere in January 2020.

‘Good Omens’ follows an unlikely duo, a fussy Angel (Michael Sheen, ‘Masters of Sex’) and a loose-living Demon (David Tennant, ‘Doctor Who’) who’ve become overly fond of life on Earth are forced to form an unlikely alliance to stop Armageddon. But they have lost the Antichrist, an 11-year-old boy unaware he’s meant to bring upon the end of days, forcing them to embark on an adventure to find him and save the world before it’s too late.

The rest of the ridiculously talented cast includes Jon Hamm as the Archangel Gabriel, Miranda Richardson as Madame Tracy, with Michael McKean as Shadwell, Jack Whitehall as Newt, Adria Arjona as Anathema Device, Anna Maxwell Martin as Beelzebub, Mark Gatiss & Steve Pemberton as Harmony & Glozier, Derek Jacobi as the Metatron, and David Morrissey as pleasure cruiser Morbilli Captain Vincent. On top of those stars, Benedict Cumberbatch will voice Satan, Frances McDormand (‘Three Billboards’, ‘Fargo’) will play his opposite, the voice of God, and Brian Cox (the actor one, not the physicist one) will voice Death.

The equal parts comedy and horror, the series is written by Neil Gaiman (‘American Gods’), who also serves as showrunner, and directed by Douglas Mackinnon (‘Sherlock’, ‘Line Of Duty’, ‘Doctor Who’). It is based on the well-loved and internationally bestselling novel ‘Good Omens’ by Terry Pratchett (‘Hogfather’) and Gaiman.

Good Omens‘ premieres Wednesday, 15th January 2020 at 9pm on BBC Two.
