‘Family Guy’: Season 20 Gets November UK Premiere On Disney+

Family Guy is on the move from ITV2 as Disney+ reveals Season 20 will premiere exclusively in the UK on streaming service.

‘Family Guy’ features the adventures of the Griffin family. Endearingly ignorant Peter and his stay-at-home wife Lois reside in Quahog, R.I., and have three kids. Meg, the eldest child, is a social outcast, and teenage Chris is awkward and clueless when it comes to the opposite sex. The youngest, Stewie, is a genius baby bent on killing his mother and destroying the world. The talking dog, Brian, keeps Stewie in check while sipping martinis and sorting through his own life issues.

The comedy features Seth MacFarlane as Peter Griffin, Stewie Griffin, Brian Griffin, Quagmire, and Tom Tucker; Alex Borstein as Lois Griffin; Seth Green as Chris Griffin; Mila Kunis as Meg; and Patrick Warburton as Joe.

The series had previously premiered on ITV2 in the UK, with a second airing on the now-defunct FOX UK channel. However, the show is owned by Disney following the FOX acquisition, so it makes sense that the mouse would want to get its three-fingered gloves back on the exclusive broadcast rights to the property.

Created by Seth MacFarlane, the series has racked up numerous awards, including an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series, only the second animated series in television history to be honoured with such a distinction. The animated comedy has been renewed up to Season 21.

Family Guy‘ Season 20 premieres exclusively via STAR on Disney+ from Wednesday 3rd November 2021 in UK and Ireland, with new episodes dropping weekly.

More and more money. Getting sick of this. Outlander on Starz, Family guy on Disney. Who can keep paying out?

Streaming is the way things are going I’m afraid. More channels and TV shows will be leaving linear TV in the near future. Starzplay frequently offer their subscription for £1.99 a month or even 99p for 3 months sometimes. At least with streaming services people aren’t locked into long contracts just to have the service.

Disney+ has every season of Family Guy currently available, while ITV Hub only has Season 19 and just 5 episodes from Season 17 for some reason. It’s also worth noting that if you only use streaming services such as Disney+ then a TV licence is not legally required, as long as you’re not watching or recording live broadcasts on any service or using BBC iPlayer.

Moneysavingexpert.com can vouch for that. So anything on-demand like Disney+ or Starzplay or indeed ITV Hub (not the watch live section) doesn’t require a TV licence, which is an extra saving to help keep costs down if you don’t use BBC services.
